I''ve been in a fruity mood lately but everything I have been making is chocolaty and peanut buttery. I really need to go grocery shopping but luckily my lacking pantry came through for me. I had bought Duncan Hines frosting creations a couple months ago and wasn't sure what to do with them until now.
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 pkg. Duncan Hines strawberry shortcake frosting creations
2 and 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup white chocolate chips
1/4 cup strawberry gelatin powder, for rolling
red food coloring, optional
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350ยบ F. In a large bowl cream together butter, sugars, eggs, food coloring (optional), and strawberry shortcake flavoring. Once thoroughly mixed stir in flour and baking soda. Dough should not be crumbly. Stir in white chocolate chips until evenly distributed among the dough. By tablespoons, scoop out cookie dough and roll in strawberry gelatin powder. Place dough balls onto ungreased cookie sheet and flatten slightly (I used the bottom of my measuring cup). Bake for approximately 10 minutes. Cool on a cooling rack and enjoy!

DeleteYum! These are perfect for spring!
ReplyDeleteI agree! :)
DeleteStrawberry and white chocolate is the perfect spring combo. I just happened to buy another strawberry shortcake packet to make cookies too :-)
ReplyDeleteExactly! It's still snowing here in PA so I do what I can to make it feel like springtime :)
DeleteI just made these tonight! I didn't use food coloring but the gelatin powder made the cookies a pretty pink color (on the outside) anyway! I also have a temperamental oven so I only put the cookies in for 9 minutes just to make sure they wouldn't be too hard on the outside. They are DELICIOUS!!! I plan on making them again!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so glad you liked them :)
DeleteJust made these puppies! I was a little skeptical after tasting the batter. But! They are absolutely delicious once baked. (The batter isn't gross, it just tasted too sweet.) Bravo on your creation!! I'll be using these as party favors for a baby shower! :)
ReplyDeleteI wasn't a huge fan of the batter myself... and that's usually the only time I eat the cookies hehe. Thank you so much! I hope everyone enjoys them as much as you do :)
DeleteI love the sound of these cookies! Yummy! They also look so pretty!
